Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about working with Raven Hollenhorst

Are you an English teacher?

No! I do have an English degree, I’m an avid reader and writer. I am a native English speaker from the United States Midwest region.

Why are you reading the dictionary?

I’ve noticed the decline in functional literacy affecting my life. Most recently I’ve had problems being understood because I use bigger or more detailed or more meaningful, but sometimes less common, words. I started reading the dictionary to counteract the literacy crisis.

Do you make money from this?

Only if you book a one on one with me through this site. I don’t earn a dime to read the dictionary, though I am eligible for “gifts” on Instagram, as I write this, I have never received one.

Why can’t I just call you?

For safety reasons. We’re strangers and don’t know one another, this keeps us both safe.
